Iann Troalen Un album fantastique, très inspiré et inspirant! Une sombre nostalgie qui pourtant nous remplit de bonheur! Un gros merci pour ce retour inespéré! 😁 Favorite track: Another Lonely Sunday.

WotanAK I’ve been listening to Handful of Snowdrops for almost 25 years. I’m unable to adequately convey how much I love this band. They are pioneers and have not released any bad material in their long career. Noir, their latest offering, is more proof of their artistic genius. It’s everything I was expecting and more. Thank you!!!

BLACK AND BLUE Every breath of every sleepless night Knocking your head Until it opens wide The smell on your pillow More expired air The stench of sweat and blood that Turns on the man downstairs The door creeks as he steps inside, Under the bed There you crawl and hide When he grabs and lifts you Up by the hair It’s raining spit, blows and curses As he shoves you down the stairs If you don’t leave your life behind Your life will leave you Black and Blue (If you don’t change your mind Your mind will change you) If you don’t leave your life behind Your life will leave you Black and Blue You choke and stumble on your words Stuck in your mouth All useless, vain and backward The clicking sound of Fears overcome Is the last thing that you hear Before you come undone

One of Us 04:51
ONE OF US Don’t dare me, Please, don’t try to wake me up I’m obsolete Jump off this train of thought No thank yous Or endless tug of war It’s my first day without you And I won’t take one more Sleeping through Dreaming up a door For this space I cleared for you But can’t stretch anymore If failing ever thought me anything God, It’s the actual size of things, … That there’s room here for One of us But only for one of us There’s only room here for One of us And only for one of us Now, Is it cell division or fathering? One does not own its life, the other’s only shedding skin, If living through this thought me anything It’s that you have to play to win, …

A SOUND PIECE OF ADVICE Can you read my every thought? Hear the beat of my ticking clock? There’s too much noise on the line For that drunken brain of mine Blowing fires, blowing clouds Hopefully the sands are running out Dear friends and family, No words could rescue me No saintly compromise No cure, no remedy No poison fed to me No sound piece of advice As my heart’s still keeping time To this stupid song of mine Will you hold me through the night Then let me run out in the light Let it take me, Let it flood me… There’s just too much on the line I’m a sinking soul on wine Will you hug me through the night Then let me walk into the light Let it win, Let it swallow me in…

ANOTHER LONELY SUNDAY There are doors in every walls But none will shut my mind And curtains on every windows, But none would make me blind Must I carry this weight Unto another, again? And if it’s all the same to you I’d rather not stay Another day, another Sunday And if it’s all the same to you I’d rather not stay Another lonely Sunday There’s a mate for every soul But none will stay aligned There’s a beat for every heart But none would sync to mine Must I carry this weight Unto another, One has to live Over and over, again?

The End 06:16
THE END So I won’t try to slow the pace I have long lost the human race I am empty I can’t fake it anymore I’m so damn weak, Can’t even show myself the door If one can never yield enough None of the dreams were meant for us And I spit these words As a red glow lights the sky The night is shifting And I can feel it coming… Like a runaway train Like the distant thunder Through the pounding rain And it’s unrelenting I can feel it coming… I’m not going insane It’s the grim reminder Of what’s done in my name And it’s unrelenting I can feel it coming Now you can steel this day from me Here’s an opening, an opportunity I am empty, yes, I can’t fake it anymore I’m so damn weak, Can’t even show myself the door And I choke on words As a red glow lights the sky Now, the night is shifting And I can feel it coming…

THE ABSENCE OF COLOR Nothing ever flames out Or ever lives to tell the tale But of holes so vain And of faith left crippled Skin like time torn open Leavving scars beyond the pale How swift, how far? We’re proud but brittle And as the moon clicks over the sun It’s the end of the world Somewhere for someone We are the absence of colour Lighting the world on fire There’s no hope or turning back Let’s end it now And fade to black We left our sons and daughters Stranded on a path of fire No belief is worth a fact Just end me now And fade this world to black No Gravity will bind us Within the shells we call by name Black shirt, black ties, And dressed for funerals Our days are overworn Let’s all meet up at the stake There will no redemption, No dress rehearsal

about

After all, I did say it would never happen. Many times! So to say that its unhoped for is a major understatement! Nevertheless, here it is, a 4th studio album containing 8 new tracks from Handful of Snowdrops. Entitled 'Noir', the title isn't a reference to the novel and film genre of the 40s and 50s but simply french for black and is, hopefully, the first part of a trilogy called 'Trois Niveaux de Gris'. WAV files newly updated to 24 bits on 12/26/2020.

about

Handful of Snowdrops Quebec, Québec

Handful of Snowdrops is a postwave band from Quebec City, Canada, with the most dedicated fanbase any artist could dream of. HoS could probably be the biggest small and unknown independent band in the world! :D
Active between 1984 and 1993, HoS returned with 'III' in 2015 and still going today.
