about

2010 remastered edition of the original 1993 release.
Live recording of Handful of Snowdrops' farewell concerts in Quebec City, march 1993. For their two final sets the band chose to play not only album tracks but also songs from the group's entire life span that they did not previously had a chance to record. But most importantly, the album was meant as a gift to their hardcore fans.

Track Name: Immortals — (Originally Written And Composed In 1985)
Immortals
Mercier/Mercier

They want me and nothing less
They'll cut out shapes in my bleeding flesh
They love it when it's dark
One way or another they will leave their mark
They steal gold from the lion's mouth
And they made up stories for the faithless crowd
Of the seven things I was dreaming of
You left me guns and ropes and pagan love

Processions for the holy men
Rise and fall then rise again
Just choose between love and hate
Or maybe you're allowed to alternate
But we've made no sacrifice
We know losers go straight to paradise
I'm not playing dead
I'm taking no chance
I refuse to enter that ritual dance

Who the hell is making that noise?
I can't hear you voice
What the hell is making that noise?
I want to hear you voice
Who the hell is making that noise?
I can't hear you voice
What the hell is making that noise?
No, there's no way I can here you voice
Track Name: Land Of The Damned — (Originally Written And Composed In 1986)
Land of The Damned
(Mercier/Mercier)

Some pilgrims have never been to New Jerusalem
A birthmark on my skin says that I'm one of them
Oh lord, if I'm suppose to see that all of this is a gift
If all of this is really for me
I sure can't say what I'll miss

I would have swear you knew
That faith imposes itself
One day it fell on you
But you prayed to your god instead

If it's so easy to start
It must be easy to stop
If it's so easy to climb
I know, it must be easy to drop

So destiny took me by the hand
To show me where my life would end
To her, I've been told
To give up my soul
At this point I'd do anything to change her mind
Please, I don't want to go

This must be the land
Land of the damned

Imagine my deception
When I've reached my destination
A man was waiting there for me
He said he was waiting just like me

He said, if people say you're the devil's friend
It's just the way to show they don't understand
But he was lying all along, the man was lying all along

He said, you could loose or you could win
You tried to choose and I told you that was a sin
I've waited much to long
You must go back where you belong

Eternity got rid of me now
Heaven knows what's left of me
I'm a lost soul
Just an empty hole
But you can wait for me my friend
I guess it mean that I am coming home
Home, home.
Track Name: Godhood — (Originally Written And Composed In 1989)
Godhood
Mercier/Mercier

The curtain dropped on me today
The cure has failed
The rest is clear
To pack your bags and go away
So this is how we pay
To finally get in here
I'll be immortalized
You left me here to die
No you don't care
The judgement's fair
Oh, how I realise
True feelings never die
I'm now aware
So don't you dare

Do I really have to be on my own?
Do I really have to compromise?
Do I really have to end up alone?
Where all things come to die

I found the cure and the disease
I do believe I never should
I found a way to reach godhood
An open wound that never heals
Yes, I do believe it never should
I found a way to reach godhood

The curtain dropped on me today
God, I came so near
I never be the same
Distance keeps my hopes away
Are you for real?
Lord, it's no game
Oh, how I realise
True feelings never die
But it doesn't show
For all you know
Somehow I'm mesmerized
You left me here to die
I'll lay below
I'll be your ghost, I'll be your shadow

Do I really have to be on my own?
Do I really have to compromise?
Do I really have to end up alone?
Where all men come to die
Track Name: The Keep - When Comes Daylight — (Originally Written And Composed In 1986-87)
The Keep
Mercier/Mercier

The feeling that I despise
Somehow you make it last
Those things that you still hide
They're a part of someone else's past
You stop before I do
I do something sinful
You better stop before we do
We do something cruel

Say you don't
Say you won't
You won't keep it away
Say you don't
And I'm begging the world to let me see
I'm begging my heart to let me breath
Until I break your skin
Until you let me in
Until you give me everything

Wait, dear wait
Heaven's on my way
If I give you my hands will you
Just guide me through that secret place?

Who knows what's on your mind
Who knows how you feel
Those things that you still hide
They're a part of someone else will
You stop before I do
I do something sinful
You better stop before I do
I do something cruel

When Comes Daylight
(Mercier/Mercier)

Should I be blame?
Let him decide
Withdraw my name
When comes daylight

To win or loose
Is this a game?
No time to choose
Please, they all look the same

But you were never given a chance
He offered gifts, he offered deliverance
Then made it disappear
Like dust or fear
Shut up, shut up

To stay or go
Where is your guide?
Faith melts like snow
When comes daylight

But you were never given a chance
He offered gifts, he offered deliverance
Then made it disappear
Like dust or fear

But you're on your way
To cross the line
Smile on your face
Boy, you show all the signs

You'll win the race
Hands on your head
Blood on you face
But the spirit's now dead

Look me in the eyes
Say that you're dead

No the guide's not the man ahead
He's pushing in your back instead
Hang on to your heart
Here come daylight
Track Name: From One Place To Another — (Originally Written And Composed In 1990)
From One Place to Another
(Mercier/Mercier)

Whatever was left behind
Whatever you will find on your way
You never try to trick your mind
Or any other games it loves to play
You make sure you realize
All that could be hiding behind your door
Yes, you're allowed to close your eyes
You won't be needing them
Not anymore

So this is where the thief goes blind or
It could be what his eyes are bathing in
Deep within

The feeling moves on and it goes from
One place to another

You fall twice then look behind
You look at what you couldn't see from here
You raise a hand above the water line
Waving at the ones who cried in here
The younger ones were all hypnotized
You weren't smiling when we met
You don't tell me that you sympathize
You’re just nothing like me yet

Please make sure that you realize
All that could be hiding behind your door
Yes, you're allowed to close your eyes
Because you won't be needing them anymore
To go…

From one place to another
The feeling moves on and it goes from
One place to another
Track Name: Alice In Wonderland — (Originally Written And Composed In 1992)
Alice in Wonderland
Mercier/Mercier

As a little girl Alice was told she would never fly
But Alice never grew accustom to deception as years went by
And as a little girl Alice grew up to be frail and shy
So Alice never made a friend and she never found out why

And according to her plan
She did everything life demands
She left a message on its door
Saying she was here before

Searching for a neutral zone
Away from the fading light
With a destination still unknown
She's a fly by night like...

Alice in Wonderland
Drinking to a life she missed
In her own imaginary land
Like Alice in Wonderland
Drinking to a life she missed
In her own imaginary land
But Alice, this is no Wonderland

As a little girl Alice was looking up to the sky
Now Alice knows more than one way she can get twice as high

With a drop of magic rain
That's now running down her vains
Like all those times before
She's going up once more
Track Name: The View — (Originally Written And Composed In 1984)
The View

When voices lie to me I lie
And if they laugh at me I smile
Well, I try
Where should I look this time?
Tell me, where should I look this time?
To find a wall behind a wall
To find a door behind a door

And maybe the walls will never stop to grow
And maybe they won't and maybe we will never know
I fly in my dreams
But I don't get really far
Enough to see
Just who you really are
Maybe the walls will never stop to grow
Maybe they won't and maybe we will never know
I fly in my dreams
But I don't get really far
Just enough to see
Just who you really are

Where should I look this time?
Tell me, where should I look this time?
To find a door behind a door
To find a flag behind a flag
Track Name: Healer — (Originally Written And Composed In 1988)
Healer
Mercier/Mercier

Thanks for the inspiration
My feet no longer feel the ground
And thanks for the words
The dreams and the only sound

There's no real destination still
There's a state I put myself into
But the more I try
The worst it gets
And the less it means
To you

The drowning feeling
An angel voice
The sound that I knew
Whenever I can hear you voice
I want to drown in it too
There I swear
Oh, I do
I want to disappear

I saw infection crawling in her hand
Showed me a part of our obscure master plan
She may have chosen to sleep eternally
But you fools rush in
The healer is calling me

The drowning feeling
An angel voice
The sound that I knew
Whenever I can hear you voice
I want to drown in it too
There I swear
Oh, I do
I want to disappear

Please, help me disappear
I want to get away
Please, help me
Run away
Track Name: A Short Story — (Originally Written And Composed In 1985)
A Short Story
Mercier/Mercier

Yes, there are paths we should never take
Like there are mistakes that must be made
Yes, there are games you should never play
Like there are words you should never say
How come there is blood on this page
Guess it's too late to rearrange
There is no need to draw a line
Guess everybody here is blind

They'll wait until they hear you call
To come with knives and kill us all
Then they will go without making a sound
No matter what you try no matter what you say
They hide in places where they'll never, never be found

Their life is no an open book
Your not allowed to take a look
Some of us thought we could read their minds
But we realized it was a waste of time
So we just sit and look around
And watch everything falling down
I hope you see what's in their hands
It's just the next part of their plan

To wait until they hear you call
They'll come with knives and kill us all
Then they will leave without making a sound
No matter what you try no matter what you say
They hide in places where they'll never, never be found
Track Name: Gabrielle — (Originally Written And Composed In 1987)
Gabrielle 2009
(JP Mercier/JP Mercier)

The wind is her hair
She holds the land in her arms
Oh God, I know when she's there
Because the sun is her heart

And I can read on her lips
All the prayers you learned
And all the secrets she keeps
But in her eyes we'll burn

How I wish that I could feel
I wish that I could tell
But sometimes it makes me want to scream
I call you Gabrielle
When she falls asleep in the arms of an angel
Sometimes it's hard to tell
Is it bad or is it good and if I should?
Please, tell me Gabrielle

Oh, when she walks in her sleep
With her hands in her hair
And refuses to breath
Dreaming she was an angel
Knowing angels are dead

But then she followed the plans
That the ancients have drawn
So she'd be part of the clan
So she'd be just a...
Oh, nothing but a word in a song

My heart is dying rapidly
But still beats to slow for me
Although you sing it endlessly
Your song's still to short for me
Gabrielle, is it heaven or hell?
Say something Gabrielle.
